IS 44...AND HE GOT A HAIRCUT!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREG!!!
Some say it was about time; some criticized his appearance; others didn't pay much attention or didn't care either way. Most didn't even ask why. They didn't care why his hair was getting longer. They just figured that it was just Greg's way of being Greg. Those who said nothing or didn't care either way know that Greg Davis has a heart as big as Texas and could see past his hair as it grew longer over the past several months. They know and love Greg for who he is and not what he looks like.
Greg was growing his hair so he could help raise money for the American Cancer Society and when his hair reached the appropriate length (12 or more inches), he could donate it to "Locks of Love". Locks of Love is an organization who uses human hair to produce wigs for cancer patients who lose their hair from chemotherapy and other cancer treatments. Greg started growing his hair last year.
Now for those of you who have never had long hair...it is a pain. It requires a lot of care and gets very aggravating. It is hot and hard to manage. Greg knew this going in. After months and months of perseverance and growing, Thursday, May 29, 2008, Greg celebrated his birthday with a great party at the Grove Park Assisted Living Facility and a haircut.
Along with being the Logistics Manager for Watson Auction & Realty, Greg is the maintenance supervisor at Grove Park and they did him up right. Grove Park Assisted Living hosted the Birthday Party and provided the haircut.
His locks of hair were carefully bound and in a matter of a few seconds, it was gone.
Greg had a large pickle jar set up for donations to the American Cancer Society. Greg personally donated $100.00 Cash to the cause along with donating his hair to "Locks of Love". There were lots of donations going into the jar. All total, Greg's efforts raised $773.00 for the American Cancer Society!
