Joe was born and raised in
Skipperville, Alabama. He is a graduate of George W.
Long School. He got his first job operating Payne's Grocery in
Skipperville when he was 11 years old and has been working ever since.
On
graduating high school, Joe went to work for the City of Ozark as a
Firefighter and Police Dispatcher. Joe was in the first class of
EMT-Paramedics to graduate from George C. Wallace Community College in
1976.
Joe
met his wife Neva on August 4, 1984 and married her on December 14th
of the same year. Their first child, Kacie, was born on April 10, 1991.
They were blessed with their second child, Whitney, on August 20, 1993.
Joe
and his family are active members of Kinsey Baptist Church. Joe
& Neva serve on several committees in their church.
Joe attended Auctioneers
School at Troy University - Dothan on July 27, 2002. He
subsequently became licensed as an Apprentice Auctioneer under Colonel
Larry Smith of Smith Auction Service.
After
completing auctioneers school, Joe attended Real Estate School at Troy
University - Dothan in 2003 under the instruction of Colonel Dwight
Wells (The Real Estate Group).
Joe retired
from Law Enforcement after 30 years of public service on March 31,
2003 and finished Real Estate School in May of 2003.
Joe quickly
went to work in the auction business when he joined Colonel Gene
Ludlum and Colonel Jan Arthur as a junior partner with Ludlum Auction
Group in April, 2003.
Joe became
a licensed Alabama Real Estate Agent in June of 2003.
In October,
2003, Joe became licensed as an Auctioneer (AL
#1831) in the State of Alabama.
Joe subsequently obtained his auctioneers licenses in Florida (FL
#AU3264 ● FL #AB2415) and
Georgia (GA #AUNR002950).
Joe
dissolved his partnership with Ludlum Auction Group and opened Watson
Auction Service, LLC on October 1, 2004. Tom Morton served as
the Broker for Watson Auction Service from the formation of Watson
Auction Service until June 1, 2005 at which time Joe became a Licensed
Real Estate Broker in Alabama. Joe also changed the name of the
company to Watson Auction & Realty, LLC at that time.
Joe is
dedicated to the auction method of marketing. He owns and
operates Watson Auction & Realty and continues to assist other
auctioneers and auction companies when needed.
Joe is a
member of the National
Auctioneers Association.
